CEBU PHILIPPINES

Cebu real estate.
Travel to Cebu and you'll find a wide variety
of hotel accommodations as also throughout the
Philippines. There are many tour packages available
to fly to the
Cebu Mactan International airport, and that

business traveler
the Waterfront Hotel next to the airport is very
nice, and has a business center and a
casino with entertainment. There are many other five star
hotels available Cebu such as the Shangri-La Mactan
Island Resort, and the Marriott Hotel in the
Ayala Business Park. Simple accommodations
are readily available such as a pension house
similar to a motel in all cities and towns. There
are many types of exported foods from the Philippines
such as fruits and flowers. Cebu is world renown
for it fresh and dried mangos. One of the best

CEBU AND CEBU CITY
Cebu Island Population is about 3 million people.
Cebu Island and Cebu City are located in the middle
of the Philippines in the Visayas province. The
"Queen City of the South", Cebu City and its attractions
are its historic sites and monuments. Magellan´s
Cross is the location where Rajah Humabon and
his followers were baptized in 1521. Magellan´s
Cross is enclosed in an octagonal shrine with
a red-tiled roof that have paintings depicting
the events of Magellan´s visit to Cebu Island
on the ceiling. There's much to see and do around
the
Cebu real estate.
CEBU LAND
Area: 5088 sq km. Cebu real estate Island province
is a narrow strip of land, about 200 km long from
the north to south and 41 kilometers at its widest.
It has an interior of rugged mountains rising
to 1013 meters in the center. Narrow plains can
be found along the islands coastline. The main
island is ringed by about 166 smaller islands,
of which
Mactan, Bantayan and Camotes Islands
are the biggest. Mactan and Bantayan are relatively
flat while Camotes is hilly. It is sometimes in
the path of unusually strong typhoons but rarely
about every 10 years or so if that.
CEBU ECONOMY
Cebu is the premier mango and corn-producing province.
Cebu also grows coconut, sugarcane, abaca, bananas,
tobacco, mangos and flowers. Guadalupe in the
mountains of Cebu City grows the finest Mangos
in the world, and that's according to dried mangos
importers. Cebu island is rich in mineral resources.
One of the biggest copper mines in Asia is in
Toledo City Cebu. Cebu industries include the
production of cement, fertilizer, paper, coconut
oil and beer. The Mepz industrial park on Mactan
island has multi national companies of manufacturing
of semiconductors, electronics, furniture, and
many other products for export. Cebu is known
for its high quality handicrafts made of bamboo,
wood, shells, and many types of different materials.
Metro Cebu is the largest and most progressive
urban center next Metro Manila. Cebu real estate
is an
excellent long term investment.
CEBU HISTORY
Cebu or Sugbu was a prosperous settlement before
the Spaniards landed in 1521. Cebu has trade relations
with China and the Southeast Asia countries. On
April 14 1521 ruler Rajah Humabon and his wife
together with 800 natives were baptized during
the first Mass in Cebu. Thirteen days later Ferdinand
Magellan died in battle against Lapu-Lapu in Mactan
on the coast of Cebu. On April 27 1565 Miguel
Lopez de Legaspi, with Augustinian Fr. Andres
de Urdaneta, landed in Cebu. On January 1 1571
Legaspi founded the present city of Cebu, changing
its former name of San Miguel to La Villa del
Santissimo Nombre de Jesus. The province of Cebu
was created on March 10 1917. It is the home province
of Sergio Osmeña who succeeded Manuel L.
Quezon as Commonwealth
President during World
War II.
TRAVELING AROUND CEBU AND THE VISAYAS PROVINCE
Theres many beautiful things to see and do on
Cebu Island and in the Visayas province than only
view Cebu real estate. Mactan island which is
just across the channel from Cebu City has many
nice beach resorts, and is where the international
airport is. The
north shore of Cebu is where Bogo
town and the whitesand resort areas of Daan-Bantayan,
Bantayan Island, San Remigio, and Malapascua Island
are located. In the south of Cebu island the resort
areas are in the area of Argao to Santander at
the southern tip. Moalboal and Badian are on the
westside of Cebu Island and have world class scuba
diving locations and resorts. Notable areas in
the Visayas province are Camotes Island, Bohol
Island, Panglao Island, and across the channel
to the east are Ormoc and Tacloban Leyte.
CEBU SINULOG FESTIVAL
The
Sinulog Festival is a week-long celebration
every third week with the best celebration in
the weekend on the third week in January celebrating
the Sto Nino. The closing of the festival is on
the sunday with a gigantic parade through the
Cebu real estate City´s main center. Dance groups
nationwide in ethnic dress compete for top honors
in the parade. It rivals the
Carneval in Rio de Janeiro, and we're not
kidding. All the shopping-centers and even fast-food
chains are selling something related to the festival
like souvenirs or something to do with the Sinulog
Festival.
Sinulog is a must see event.
CEBU TOURIST ATTRACTIONS
Fort San Pedro Cebu City. The fort which is the
smallest and oldest tri-bastion in the country,
now houses a museum. Magellan's Cross Cebu City.
Located along Magallanes Street, the cross was
planted by Ferdinand Magellan to mark the spot
where Rajah Humabon, Queen Juana and their followers
were baptized.
Cebu's Beaches are among the many
reasons why tourists come to Cebu. Cebu's Local
Products. Cebu is also noted for its handicrafts
and fruits such as beautiful fashion accessories
and delicious mangoes. Kawasan Falls Badian Cebu.
One can feel the coolness of the surrounding lush
greenery of this panoramic waterfalls. Nearby
is a mini hydro-electric plant specifically designed
and constructed to preserve the natural beauty
of the place. Taoist Temple Cebu City. Located
in
Beverly Hills Cebu real estate, this temple
preserve the teachings of Lao-Tse, the 600 B.C.
Chinese philosopher. Everyday people climb its
99 steps to light joss sticks and have their fortune
read. Basilica Minore Del Santo Nino. Formerly
known as San Agustin Church. It was originally
built in 1565 to house the oldest and the most
celebrated Christian relic in the country, the
image of the Senor Santo Nino de Cebu the Infant
Jesus, said to have been Magellan's gift to Queen
Juana. After being destroyed by fire, it was rebuilt
in 1602 and then rehabilitated in 1740.
