• PHILIPPINES TRANSPORTATION GUIDE
Arriving into the Philippines is normally via airplane, or ship. Manila, Cebu, and Subic Bay are the only major international entry points. There are many regular scheduled flights between the Philippines, and Australia, Hong Kong, Japan, New Zealand, Malaysia, Singapore, and the USA. Departure tax is US$20.00. Confirm your onward flights at least 72 hours before departure. There are several airlines providing nationwide flights between Philippine cities. There is one railway line between Manila to Naga in southern Luzon. Long-distance buses are the common main overland mass transportation. There are plenty of ferries, ships, boats, and fast crafts operating between islands. Car rentals are available with and without drivers. It's normal and affordable to have a car driver here. International and local car rental agencies have offices in the major cities. Local transport includes metered taxi's, Jeepney's which were originally reconstructed jeeps, motor tricycles with sidecar, and motorcyle.
